Proof of Judaism

Proving your Jewish identity is often the key to immigrating to Israel and gaining legal status in the country. Whether you are eligible for repatriation, or are required to prove your Jewish identity for marriage or conversion, dealing with immigration authorities and rabbinical courts requires a thorough understanding of the law and halakha.

This process is complex and involves gathering historical documents, presenting credible evidence, and sometimes appearing before Jewish scholars. A small mistake could significantly delay the process or lead to rejection.

We specialize in providing support and representation in cases of proving Judaism. We assist in collecting and organizing documents, building a comprehensive evidence file, and representing you before the Ministry of the Interior, the Jewish Agency, and the rabbinical courts. Our extensive experience ensures professional, sensitive, and effective support to realize your rights and fulfill your dreams. Contact us for advice.

Private conversion held in Israel

The Law of Return grants the right to immigrate to anyone who has converted properly. However, the path to official recognition is not always simple. Choosing the wrong conversion path, contacting an unrecognized conversion agency, or making mistakes in the process may prevent you from receiving status in Israel. Therefore, we see the legal planning of the conversion process as a critical step in increasing your chances of receiving a new immigrant status application.

Immigrating to Israel - Making the Right a Reality

The Law of Return grants Jews, their children, grandchildren, and spouses the right to immigrate to Israel. However, exercising this right in practice often involves dealing with complex bureaucracy and stringent requirements from the Jewish Agency, consulates, and the Ministry of the Interior.

The Allison Moses Law Firm accompanies you through all stages of the process: from proving eligibility and collecting documents, through professional representation with all authorities, to handling conversions and dealing with special challenges (such as problems proving Judaism or criminal records). Our extensive experience and in-depth understanding of the procedures guarantee you personal, professional and dedicated guidance, which will allow you to complete the immigration process safely and integrate successfully in Israel.

Our firm specializes in a variety of legal proceedings against authorities and branches of the state such as the Population and Immigration Authority - Ministry of the Interior, Nativ, etc. in various courts.

Filing appeals to the Court of Appeals

If you have received a negative decision regarding entry into Israel, a residence visa, a residence permit, or any other issue related to the status of foreigners in Israel under the Entry into Israel Law – you have the right to file an appeal with the Court of Appeals. We will assist you in preparing the appeal, collecting the relevant documents, and representing you before the Court, with the aim of reversing the decision and gaining the requested status.

Administrative appeals to the District Court and the Supreme Court

In cases where lower courts have issued judgments regarding the status of foreigners in Israel, an administrative appeal may be filed with the District Court or the Supreme Court. These issues include, among others, decisions regarding citizenship, family reunification, status for foreign spouses, refugee status, humanitarian status, or any other decision that affects your legal status.

Administrative petitions under the Citizenship Law and the Law of Return

If your rights under the Citizenship Law or the Law of Return have been violated as a result of a decision by an administrative authority, you may file an administrative petition with the District Court. These petitions concern issues such as eligibility for Israeli citizenship, immigrant status, or any other matter that prevents you from exercising your rights under these laws. Our firm has extensive experience in filing complex administrative petitions, and we will work diligently to protect your rights and ensure their realization.

Types of visas and residence permits in Israel

In the State of Israel, a foreign citizen who wishes to enter its territory must apply for an appropriate visa.

In this context, a distinction should be made between entering Israel and residing there. Entering Israel means crossing its borders, while residing in Israel means staying there. As a general rule, entering Israel requires a visa, while residing in Israel for more than 90 days requires a residence permit.

The Entry into Israel Law and the regulations enacted pursuant to it determine the types of visas and residence permits that the Minister of the Interior and/or someone on his behalf is authorized to grant and under what conditions, as detailed in the list. The above should not be considered legal advice or a legal opinion. In any case of questioning on the matter, one should contact a qualified attorney for full advice. This article is not intended to create an attorney-client relationship between the readers and the Minister.
